The inability of the Cuban regime continues to reveal images of the deep economic crisis affecting the most basic services for the population: the government of Matanzas has been forced to resort to using wheelbarrows pushed by people and ETECSA's electric carts to manage the distribution of regulated bread, once again highlighting the challenges in providing even the most fundamental necessities.

Official journalist Yuni Moliner defended on Facebook this Saturday the Matanzas government's decision to use ETECSA's electric cars for the distribution of regulated bread.

"Given the current complexities with fuel, the interconnectedness between companies and the timely measures are appreciated," stated Moliner, downplaying the reliance on improvised solutions to transport the bread produced in the units of the Provincial Food Company to the warehouses.

The Facebook page of the Versalles People's Council in the city of Matanzas showcased the use of a wheelbarrow as a solution to the evident crisis in bread transport in the province, transporting the product from the bakery to the stores.

"Given the transportation issues in delivering bread to the warehouses, popular participation as an alternative is necessary," the profile stated.

He noted that the delegate of district 9 of the Versalles Popular Council, María Mercedes Ruiz Alonso, along with her constituents, is involved in that "task."

"That is the attitude of the Council delegates. Right now, they are all focused on resolving every difficulty," the page boasted.

The Cuban regime announced last Friday that it would be reducing the size of the bread in the basic food basket, which will now weigh just 60 grams.

Anayra Cabrera Martínez, the general director of industrial policy at the Ministry of Food Industry (MINAL), revealed that the low availability of wheat flour necessitates a reduction in the weight of the bread from 80 grams to 60 grams. The price has also decreased from one peso to 75 cents.

The management explained that this is the only way they can ensure the population can acquire bread daily and avoid the issues that occurred months ago.

However, the measure has been harshly criticized by people on social media who pointed out that the bread, now with a laughable size, does not even reach the stipulated 60 grams.

For years, the regime has been unable to ensure the quality and stability of the regulated bread production that it distributes rationed to the population.

An example of this is the constant complaints circulating on the Internet, where people criticize the taste, texture, size, and stability of such a sensitive product as bread.
