On September 24, the dollar returns to its price of 320 CUP in the informal currency exchange market in Cuba, after a brief increase recorded this Monday, when it reached 322 CUP.
That movement broke a 52-day stability during which the US dollar had remained unchanged. The slight increase of two pesos generated expectations, but the dollar has returned to the value it had maintained for weeks in the informal market on the island.
Regarding the other currencies, the euro remains unchanged at 330 CUP, just like the freely convertible currency (MLC), which stays stable at 270 CUP.
Despite these small movements, the instability of the currencies remains a concern for Cubans, who rely on these currencies for their purchases in a context of deep economic crisis.
