A new case of gender violence shook Matanzas in recent days when a woman was stabbed by her ex-partner, identified as Luis Miguel Sánchez, after she decided to end their relationship.
According to statements from Reina Arrieta, the victim's mother, on the social media platform Facebook, the aggressor had threatened the family, claiming that he would kill her and her granddaughter if they revealed what had happened.
Currently, Sánchez is on the run from justice after the attack, as a complaint has been filed against him.
Meanwhile, the victim Milvia Jorrin has been discharged from the hospital, according to a post of hers.
The Cuban Annelis Hernández Puerto, 47 years old, was killed by her partner on September 19, at her home in the municipality of Florida, in Camagüey, independent platforms confirmed this Monday.
The crime against Hernández raises the number of reported femicides in Cuba to 38 during 2024, according to the underreporting recorded by the feminist violence observatories Yo Sí Te Creo en Cuba (YSTCC) and the magazine Alas Tensas (OGAT).
Also, the young Arianni Céspedes (January 7, 1989) was murdered in her home in the Alejo neighborhood, in the town of Aguacate, Palma Soriano municipality, in Santiago de Cuba.
Sources close to the victim have told CiberCuba that she was stabbed by her ex-partner in her home, where she remains at the time of publishing this news, waiting for the authorities from Criminalistics and forensic experts to arrive.
