Aly Sánchez celebrates Emmy nominations for the short "De Banao para el mundo": "I explode with excitement"

In January of this year, Aly was in his hometown Banao along with Yoyi, Preña Palma, and El Mocho.

Cuban actress Aly Sánchez is overflowing with emotion, and rightfully so. Her short documentary De Banao para el mundo, part of the show celebrating her 20 years of artistic career, has been nominated at the 48th Annual Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards 2024 in the categories of Nostalgia - Short Form Content, Writing - Short Form Content, and Directing - Short Form Content.

"It doesn't matter where you come from, only your work and effort determine where you will go," Aly wrote this Tuesday on her Instagram account alongside several photos and videos from her visit last January to her hometown Banao with Yoyi, Preña Palma, and El Mocho.

The documentary, created in collaboration with Yulma García and Kristy Espinoza under the production of Billionaires Group in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, FL, is a project filled with love that both Aly and her team wanted to dedicate to the audience. And although the nomination has caused a stir among her followers, it is not the first time that the Cuban actress and comedian has been nominated for an Emmy. In 2022, Aly was already nominated along with her show El News Café from Univision, at the 46th edition of the Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards, in the Lifestyle category - Short or Long Form Content. On that occasion, she shared the nomination with her co-host Alberto Sardiñas and five other team members.

This most recent announcement has sparked a wave of congratulations and reactions on social media. The excitement is reflected in every comment: "What a beautiful project! I can't wait to see it"; "Congratulations, the effort of so many years is being greatly rewarded"; "Emmys for Banao and his people, what great news!"; and "How far you're going and everything you have yet to achieve. So many beautiful things"; "How nice to see how people, even after being influencers and recognized on social media, never lose their essence, their humility, and never forget their past or their roots," are just some of the words of support that his followers have left him.

Other followers keep asking where they can watch the documentary and express that they don’t want to miss it: "Where can the documentary be watched?" is repeated in multiple messages.

The celebration has also been shared by other public figures and colleagues in the industry such as Laritza Bacallao and Osmany García, who made it clear the affection and respect they feel for Aly. "You deserve it, beautiful guajira," "You are a true example, blessings," and "You are someone who deserves a lot of admiration for everything you convey" are other expressions of support she has received from her friends and admirers.
