What does "Punto" mean?: Cubans explain the true meaning of El Taiger's latest song: "Only we know".

The latest song by El Taiger is called "El Punto," an expression from Cuban slang that other nationalities do not understand.

Cuban slang is unique, and many of its expressions are incomprehensible to those who do not live on the island. This leads people of all nationalities to wonder about their meaning, especially when they hear them in songs. A recent example is with the song "Marca Mandarina," the phrase "Dime si le comentó a la pura," or, for the past few weeks, the same happens with "El Punto," the latest hit by El Taiger, in which he collaborates with Oniel Bebeshito, Charly, and Johayron.

TikTok is a space where many are encouraged to clear up their doubts about Cuban expressions. And on this platform, several videos with the song "El Punto" have gone viral, capturing the attention of the Cuban community, where users try to explain what the word "punto" means.

"What is 'punto'? I'm from Colombia," asked a Cuban user, prompting other fellow countrymen to comment on the meaning of this expression.

"Only Cubans know what 'punto' is, it has many meanings"; "For example, 'punto' is when Yailin says that Tekashi forced her to get surgeries, knowing full well that it's a lie, she's making a point"; "Class 'punto' is like saying tremendous weirdo, fool, idiot, all in that style"; "The 'punto' is the husband of the girl you’re sneaking around with... that’s just one of its many meanings hahaha"; "One day in Cuba and you experience it firsthand"; "I just realized that I can’t explain it"; "I'm Cuban, I know what it means, but I don't know how to explain it... it’s something like a point"; "A 'punto' is said about a person who makes a fool of themselves, a clown, the laughingstock... and much more"; or "It's like saying 'mango brand' or 'mandarin brand', it has many meanings that we can't explain," some Cubans commented.

And you, how would you explain what "punto" means to someone who is not Cuban?

On the other hand, "El Punto" is the last song that El Taiger released before his tragic passing. José Manuel Carbajal died on October 10 in Miami, at the age of 37, a week after being shot in the head.

Artists and fans have deeply lamented his passing, and his songs have not stopped playing. One of the most popular is precisely "El Punto," which is close to reaching 7 million views on YouTube. Additionally, the song ranks number 7 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart.
