Cubavisión will retransmit the episodes of the Cuban and foreign soap operas corresponding to last week, which could not be seen in the country due to the general blackout.
The well-known channel announced the decision in a "Breaking News" statement, indicating that it is something of great importance for its audience.
The channel Cubavisión informs that starting this Monday, October 21, we will re-broadcast the episodes of the Cuban and foreign soap operas corresponding to the previous week, with the aim of facilitating the tuning of viewers affected by the electro-energy situation," they stated in their official statement.
This has generated laughter on social media and dozens of critical comments due to the poor information in the national media about the energy situation in the country, highlighting that there are many areas that still lack electrical service, have no fuel to produce food, and are under great social tension.
"Child... What more novel than the novel that is being lived? They dare!", said a user on Facebook. Another person commented: "The East of the country remains dark. What are they going to do next week? Broadcast it again?"
"How great! They are going to re-broadcast it for a year, until the entire population manages to see it," pointed out another internet user.
Many municipalities in Cuba are still experiencing a general blackout. Cubavisión will have to readapt its programming schedule if it wants to keep the audience interested in telenovelas, amidst the context of the crisis in the country.
The Cuban Television is currently airing the national production telenovela Renacer. The cast includes actors Fernando Hechavarría, Alejandro Cuervo, Andros Perugorría, Raquel Rey, Alejandro Guerrero, Belissa Cruz, and Eileen Acosta León.
The Brazilian telenovela Orgulho e Paixão is also broadcast, featuring actors such as Nathalia Dill and Thiago Lacerda, who is well remembered for his character Giuseppe Garibaldi in the telenovela Siete Mujeres.
