Luis Silva outraged by the blackout: "Some people need to resign here."

The popular Cuban comedian Luis Silva, known for his portrayal of the character "Pánfilo" on the show Vivir del Cuento, expressed his outrage following the recent general blackout that affected the island.

Without beating around the bush or using convoluted terms, Silva, one of the most beloved artists in the country, demanded the resignation of those responsible for the situation. "I want to see the resignations! A few people need to resign here," he said in response to a Facebook post by state journalist Lázaro Manuel Alonso, who provided details about the severe energy crisis.

Pánfilo's response has garnered over 400 reactions and has strongly resonated in public opinion, intensifying the debate about the responsibilities of the authorities regarding the critical situation the country is going through.

Just a few hours ago, the Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC), a coalition that gathers opponents both inside and outside the island, urged the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel to resign from his position due to the growing energy crisis affecting the people.

The blackout has generated increasing frustration among Cubans, and Silva's words reflect a widespread feeling of discontent. Moreover, they arrived at a time when Vivir del Cuento could become the new victim of censorship on Cuban Television.

Such suspicions began after a message shared by Luis Silva on Instagram regarding the failure to air the new premiere episodes, and subsequently, one of the producers of the show confirmed some rather unflattering information.

A producer linked to the program said in a phone call to CubaNet that the new episodes have not been released due to censorship: "There has been a great deal of censorship in the making of the latest episodes that were filmed, which has caused significant annoyance among the team."

Meanwhile, the regime continues with its triumphalism and Díaz-Canel leads that archaic rhetoric: “The National Defense Council is convened at 11:00 am to analyze the exceptional situation the country is experiencing,” he wrote on the social network X.

"We continue to provide complete oversight of the energy contingency and the damage caused by Oscar. The SEN is already recovering, and Guantánamo will also recover," added the current leader of the dictatorship.
