A rental car for tourists overturned on Sunday night after an accident in Marianao, Havana.
A fire department unit was dispatched to the scene. At the time this note was written, neither the state media nor authorities had reported on the incident.
"Accident in Marianao, at the intersection of 100 and 51. Passenger car," a user reported in the Facebook group 'Traffic Accidents in Cuba'.
The causes of the accident are unknown, although some users speculated in the comments about factors such as speeding and the rain that was falling in the capital.
A video shared in the mentioned Facebook group showed the car completely overturned, with its wheels facing the sky. The cabin appeared to have sustained damage, but the condition of the occupants is unknown.
The condition of the roads and streets in Cuba, along with the inadequate maintenance of rental cars for tourism, affects the safety of tourists traveling in these vehicles, which often end up overturned due to accidents.
At the end of April, a tourist vehicle overturned in front of the Havana Zoo, located on Avenida 26, for reasons that remain unknown.
Some photographs shared by the author of the post revealed the vehicle, seemingly a Hyundai Elantra, part of the arrivals to Cuba in October 2021, imported by the company Transtur S.A.
