Miami police call a press conference regarding the El Taiger case.

The press conference has been called by the chief of the Miami Police.

Manuel A. Morales, Chief of the Miami Police, invited the press to a press conference scheduled for this Thursday at 4:00 p.m. (local time) to provide an updated statement on the progress of the investigation into the murder of reggaeton artist El Taiger.

"The head of the Miami police decided to gather all the information he could share with the media," said Univision journalist Mario Vallejo during a brief live broadcast where he reported on the alert.

The journalist reported that it was confirmed by the New York Police that Damia Valdez-Galloso was arrested in room 110 at 12:20 p.m. and was charged with being a fugitive.

Vallejo added that details are expected to be revealed at today’s press conference regarding the type of information Valdez-Galloso had about the case, which the police were seeking.

The communicator specified that two investigators traveled to New York to request the extradition of Damian Valdez-Galloso to be sent to Miami.

"The police's priority is to have sufficient information and the necessary evidence to ensure that at the time of the trial, the accused is convicted for the murder of El Taiger," he concluded.

This Wednesday, it was reported that Damian Valdez-Galloso, a person of interest in the El Taiger case, had been arrested in New York.

Damian Valdez-Galloso, born on December 5, 1974, and residing in the city of Hialeah, Miami, is a convicted sexual offender who was required to check in with the police regularly, a requirement he had failed to meet, as clarified on Wednesday by Univision journalist Daniel Benítez.

Last week, Manuel A. Morales, the chief of Miami Police, stated that there had been significant progress in the investigation into the death of El Taiger. He predicted that the case could soon be resolved, providing answers to many questions raised by the fans of the murdered reggaeton artist.

Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales dismissed, in a press conference shortly after the incident, that what happened at El Taiger was a suicide attempt, categorizing it as a "criminal act."

Morales requested community assistance to locate Damian Valdez-Galloso, 49 years old, who has been declared a "person of interest" in the investigation concerning the reggaeton artist. According to previous reports, police investigations revealed that he was one of the last individuals to be in contact with the reggaeton artist before he was found with a gunshot wound.

An aunt of Damian Valdez-Galloso requested that his family not be criminalized on social media and that they not be exposed.

El Taiger passed away on October 10 after being in critical condition for a week at Jackson Memorial Hospital, having been found in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.

This past Friday, it was reported that Jorge Jr., cousin of El Taiger, announced his imminent arrival in Cuba with the reggaeton artist's ashes.
