A Cuban living in Brazil reacted strongly to a comment on social media where a user told her that she romanticizes capitalism. In response, she asserted that that system has made her a stronger person.
The young woman known on TikTok as @yaicubabrasil confidently stated that "capitalism is not for everyone," and she firmly opposed those who believe that Brazil is a bad country to emigrate to.
"Every time I see people here with almost their entire family, with their partner, with children, saying that this country is worthless, claiming that they can't get ahead, let me explain something to you. I arrived here at 19 years old and went through very tough economic situations. There came a time when all I wanted was to return to Cuba because I didn't have a penny," he recalled, before sharing how, with hard work and sacrifices, he was able to turn his life around in Brazilian territory.
Yai confessed that she is grateful every day for not having returned to Cuba and added: “Capitalism is not for everyone because those who don’t have what it takes to endure capitalism end up facing those issues. I say, if they are so regretful about coming to Brazil, they should work; in just two months of work, you can buy a ticket to Cuba.”
In his video, he added that Brazil is a vast country and recommended that Cubans move to the southern cities, as they provide the best job opportunities for immigrants looking to start afresh.
"Don't talk nonsense. If capitalism doesn't suit you, leave. Capitalism is not for everyone. Capitalism doesn't have to adapt to you; you have to adapt to capitalism. Those same people who criticize capitalism a lot are the ones you see on the weekends drinking a million beers," he added.
Regarding life in Cuba, he reflected: "They are accustomed to living off improvisation, to living without working because in Cuba, people don't work, and those who do work don’t really work. Capitalism benefits those who work, those who have the mindset to start something because in capitalism, if you just work for someone else, you will always be a slave (...) It is not the country that opens up opportunities for you."
Recently, a significant controversy has emerged among Cubans on social media. While some believe that Brazil is not a good country for emigration, others see many advantages in the South American giant.
