An incident involving two Cuban women in Rome has caught attention on social media after they attempted to be stolen from while walking through the city streets.
The young women shared a video on the TikTok profile @yanetladificil, recounting the moment when two women attempted to steal their belongings, but their boldness and determination thwarted the theft.
In the video, one of the Cuban women, visibly upset, recounts what happened with her characteristic ironic and defiant tone. "I'm dying to confront those people so you can see where Pupi is going to perform," the young woman comments.
"I'm dying for a face-to-face with those people," she adds, reaffirming her determination not to be intimidated. "As for the international closure I'm going to impose," she says in the video, mixing anger and humor, referencing her intention to stand her ground if the situation escalates.
Additionally, amidst laughter, she talks about the frustration of imagining losing her identification documents abroad: "With my clumsiness, for them to come and steal my ID documents, because I have nothing else."
Such situations, where tourists fall victim to theft, are not uncommon in European cities. However, the response of Cuban women has served as a reminder of the resilience and sense of humor with which they often confront adversity.
