With a display of skill and power, the Cuban Osleys Iglesias (13-0, 12 KO) reaffirms his immense talent in the super middleweight division with each outing, establishing himself as a fighter capable of delivering exciting performances in the most important events.

Iglesias defeated the Ukrainian Petro Ivanov (18-1-2, 13 KO) by knockout on Thursday in the fifth round, maintaining his undefeated record and defending his universal title from the World Boxing Organization.

The fight, which took place in Montreal, Canada, seemed to represent the biggest challenge to date for the Cuban. However, Iglesias controlled the match from the outset, showcasing sharp technique that gradually wore down Ivanov's defense until he finally succumbed in the fifth round, according to a report by El Nuevo Herald.

Although the fighter from Matanzas has gained a reputation for swiftly resolving his disputes, on this occasion he also demonstrated his ability to excel in the middle rounds, clearing any doubts about his stamina and skill in the ring.

Let's do a quick review: The match began with a first round of gauging distances, during which Iglesias established his range. Starting from the second round, his offensive began to take effect, and by the third round, he delivered the first strong blow that shook Ivanov's defense.

The Cuban continued to dominate the ring, utilizing his right jab and delivering precise body shots that progressively weakened his opponent.

Ivanov attempted a more aggressive strategy in the fourth round, trying to unsettle Iglesias, but the Caribbean fighter maintained his control and responded with powerful left hooks.

Iglesias's offensive left Ivanov with no options, and in the fifth round, a final punch to the face sealed the victory for the Cuban, who did not allow the Ukrainian to recover before the count of 10.

With this victory, Iglesias solidified his position at 168 pounds and is now waiting for a fight that could bring him closer to a major world title. Now, Iglesias's path could lead him to face renowned champions in the division.
