An unexpected event occurred on Wednesday at Miami International Airport (MIA) when a pregnant woman began experiencing labor pains while going through a security checkpoint.
In front of the astonished gaze of those present, the woman gave birth to a boy on the premises.
The airport staff and firefighters acted quickly and assisted the woman while emergency services were contacted.
A video shared by the Telemundo 51 channel on Instagram shows staff wearing gloves placing the baby on the mother's lap and gently running a hand across their forehead.
Minutes after the birth, both the mother and the newborn were transferred to a nearby hospital for medical care.
So far, no further details have been revealed about the mother's identity or the baby's health status.
In 2021, a similar incident occurred at the same airport, when a woman gave birth to a girl, assisted by local workers, Miami-Dade police officers, and fire department personnel.
The mother decided to name her daughter Mia, which coincides with the abbreviation MIA used for Miami's airport.
