A Cuban man shot two people in Miami following a dispute over taking photos of their vehicles

The incident occurred in the parking lot of a shopping center at 3:00 am. One of the victims was injured in the pelvis and is currently hospitalized. The Cuban was intoxicated.

A Cuban from Miami Lakes was sentenced to prison for allegedly shooting at two men in a shopping center parking lot after they asked him not to take photos of their cars.

Danny Michel Casavilla García, 47 years old, is currently in jail without the option of bail and is facing serious charges, including two counts of attempted homicide, discharging or launching a deadly missile, and causing injury with a firearm.

The incident occurred on Monday around 3:00 a.m. in the area of 155th Street and 77th Court Northwest in Miami Lakes.

According to the arrest report, Casavilla García was intoxicated and began filming and taking photos of the victims' cars.

The two men, identified as Cedeño Alvarado and Angulo Moreno, told him to stay away from their cars. After an argument, they left the scene but then returned, and the Cuban continued taking photographs until he pulled out a gun and shot at them.

Alvarado was standing and was shot in the pelvis. Moreno was sitting in his car and was not injured, but a bullet struck the vehicle, shattering the driver's side window and causing other damage.

A video recorded by a security camera shows Casavilla García shooting at a car, while the injured person tries to escape as he is being pursued and shot at continuously.

Both the victims and the aggressor called the police. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a semi-automatic pistol in his back pocket.

After being arrested, Casavilla-García admitted to having drunk and fired several times, but he added that he was not sure what had happened.

However, he confessed to the detective that he "was not afraid of anyone."

When he appeared before the criminal court on Tuesday, his defense attorney argued that he shot in self-defense.

"We have an opportunity to return to court and secure bail, and my partner and I are going to do it. He is not doing anything illegal; when we have two men above him, we will have more court hearings in the future, and we will present the facts in front of everyone," said Scott Egleston, as quoted by América TeVe.

The injured person remains hospitalized, but his father told Local 10 that he is expected to survive.
