A young Cuban woman has died and 11 others were injured in a serious truck accident in Ciego de Ávila

The accident occurred in the municipality of Florencia.

A young Cuban woman has died and 11 people have been injured, including three minors, as a partial result of a serious accident that occurred this Sunday in the municipality of Florencia, Ciego de Ávila, when a truck fell from a height of about 10 meters after crossing a bridge.

The incident, which occurred around 7:40 p.m., involved a truck belonging to the Acopio Company. The vehicle was traveling from Meneses to Ciro Redondo after participating in an event in the Perea community, according to sources from the government.

The municipal secretary of the Communist Party in Florencia specified on Facebook that the vehicle lost control before reaching the curve known as "the Patabola hill."

This caused the truck to fall about 10 meters after crossing a bridge, ultimately overturning.

The injured were immediately taken to the Florencia Polyclinic.

Subsequently, starting at 11:00 p.m., the injured were sent to Morón Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

So far, the death of young Yenia Ferrer García has been confirmed.

Official media denied that there are three fatalities and that the injured minors are in serious condition.

In another recent accident, also occurring in Ciego de Ávila, a Cuban identified as Alberto Rodríguez Monte de Oca died when the car he was driving collided with a Yutong bus in the municipality of Ciro Redondo, resulting in his immediate death.
