A cargo truck caught fire this morning on the National Highway, according to a post by a user in the Facebook group Accidents Buses & Trucks.
"The tire on the driver's side blew out and it crashed into the bridge's pilings. This happened around one in the morning at km 212," wrote Rafael Castillo on social media, who shared a photo showing the burning vehicle.
The same source added that nothing happened to the two drivers who were in the truck.
A video shared in the mentioned group, recorded during the day, showed the extensive material damage caused by the incident, not only to the vehicle but also to the merchandise, which was scattered across the ground.
It is unclear what cargo the truck was transporting. Although based on appearance, it could be packages of Golden Phoenix chicken, the witness who shared the photo of the fire stated that they were "coditos."
Kilometer 212 of the National Highway, the area where the incident occurred, passes through the province of Cienfuegos.
