Yureibys Torresilla, an activist from Sancti Spíritus better known as "The Hero", decided to raffle a bicycle that was gifted to him to benefit a child over six years old from the Jesús María neighborhood.
The initiative, which is completely free, aims not only to provide a means of transportation but also to convey a message of solidarity and unity within the community of Sancti Spíritus.
Torresilla, who leads the community project "Hermanos de la Calle," focused on supporting those in greatest need, explained on Facebook that through this raffle, they will demonstrate their commitment to the most vulnerable sectors, reinforcing values of hope among the residents of the neighborhood.
In addition, he explained that to ensure transparency, the draw will have two containers: one with numbers from 1 to 100 for the children to choose from, and another where a child from the audience will select the winning number.
"It will be organized and transparent, with parents, neighbors, and members of our group present," he assured.
"We decided to hold the free raffle in the neighborhoods of Jesús María. Gentlemen, we will not charge under any circumstances for the raffle number; that is not up for discussion," emphasized the activist.
The bicycle, despite being used for more than six months, is in perfect condition: "I hope it goes to a truly needy child who, according to God's will, can take it because we do not make distinctions between children. That's not our way of working," he added.
Torresilla also requested the collaboration of the neighbors to help organize the event, emphasizing that his administrative team will be present to ensure the smooth running of the activity.
In a previous post, the activist emphasized that, although no date has been set yet, the raffle will likely be held on Wednesday, “around five in the afternoon in the area in front of the organopónico at the end of Jesús María.”
In the past, Torresilla and his project "Hermanos de la Calle" have carried out numerous actions to benefit those in greatest need.
In a widely recognized act of solidarity on social media, they recently rescued an abandoned elderly man exposed to the cold in the Escribano neighborhood, revealing the passivity of a regime constrained by “protocols” that leaves the most vulnerable unprotected.
The action was led by Torresilla, who shared the details this Sunday in the Facebook group "Here with the hero in Sancti Spíritus and all of Cuba, help and love."
