In CALMA. For the first time in several days, the average sale of dollars, euros, and MLC in the informal Cuban market shows signs of absolute stability.
In the last few hours, there has been no movement in any of the three currencies, following the fluctuations that have marked the first half of January.
At dawn on this January 16th, the dollar remains pegged at 340 CUP, a price it has held for six days.
Less stable in the last week had been the euro, which however this Thursday maintains its value from the previous day, at 345 CUP, five units above the US dollar.
In the case of the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC), it remains steady today for the fourth consecutive day at 240 CUP.
Exchange Rate Evolution
We will have to wait to see if the trend towards stability persists or if it is merely a rearrangement of informal buying and selling activities.
