The exhibit, organized in collaboration with Omer Pardillo Cid, executor of the Celia Cruz Estate, showcases a unique collection that includes photographs, videos, posters, wigs, and dresses belonging to the woman known as the 'Queen of Salsa', who passed away in 2003 at the age of 77, cited the agency EFE.

"This tribute not only celebrates his artistic journey but also his deep connection with his people, particularly with the Cuban community," the text notes.

Celia Cruz's centenary coincides with the centenary of the city of Hialeah and the anniversary of the Tower of Freedom, highlighting the special connection of the singer with Miami's Cuban community, which welcomed her after her departure from Cuba in 1960 due to the communist regime.

Born in Havana in 1925, Celia Cruz gained international fame as the emblematic voice of La Sonora Matancera and later as a solo artist in the United States.

In addition to her musical legacy, the singer was recently recognized as the first Afro-Latina woman to appear on a United States coin, an honor awarded on August 8.

The exhibition, which will be on display until February 15 at the Hialeah Campus Art Gallery of MDC, invites visitors to celebrate the life and legacy of one of the most significant figures in Latin music.
