Omar Franco, Ruperto, speaks about Vivir del Cuento: "I would have liked the program to continue."

Omar Franco, from Miami, reflects on the censorship and potential cancellation of "Vivir del Cuento," a vital program for its actors and the Cuban audience, highlighting the impact on his career.

From Miami, where he has lived for several years, Omar Franco discusses the rumors of censorship concerning the comedy show Vivir del Cuento, in which he was involved with his character Ruperto.

In an interview for "La Casa de Maka", the Cuban actor and comedian shared his thoughts on the potential cancellation of the show.

"I would have liked the show to continue, not only because the Cuban audience enjoyed it, but because people see the cast of actors, yet there is a whole team behind it that relied on that program and who lived off of that program, and it's tough because for many, the show was a source of livelihood," said Omar Franco.

As far as I know, it seems that it is not going to be resumed, and Chacón's departure is another problem because they are columns of a structure that is collapsing,” he added about the recent arrival of actor Wilber Gutiérrez in the United States, who is residing in Naples.

Despite the years that have passed since he left Cuba and departed from Vivir del Cuento, Omar Franco fondly remembers this period: “One of the best things that happened to me in my career was being invited to the show, and I tried to give my best; the character came to life and was well received.”

Like many Cubans, Omar Franco saw the imminent end of Vivir del Cuento due to its humor that masked social criticism and became an echo and reflection of the problems existing in Cuba.

Regarding the current situation of Luis Silva, the comedian who portrays Pánfilo, Omar Franco stated that he could only speculate and that in his opinion, he may have received some “ear tugging”.
