"Facundo Correcto" and "Chacón", characters from the popular Cuban television series Vivir del Cuento, had a fun reunion in Miami.
In the sketch, Chacón, who has just arrived in the city, goes for a snack with Facundo, to whom he informs that in the neighborhood, back in Cuba, there are almost no people left.
"Lately the neighborhood is becoming empty. Things are tough over there," said Chacón; to which Facundo replied, following the logic of his opportunistic character, that they must stay there and "resist as a country with creativity."
In response to the observation that he was one of the first to leave, Facundo points out that he went to the U.S. to "fulfill a mission," and that the alleged reason for his departure from the country was merely "a cover to penetrate the enemy from within."
The funniest part is when Chacón reveals the amount of time he actually plans to spend in Miami.
The emotional reunion of Facundo, played by Andy Vázquez, and Eriberto Chacón, portrayed by Wilber Gutiérrez, brought back the spark that made millions of households in Cuba laugh for years.
Gutiérrez left Cuba in September 2024, beginning a journey that included a first stop in Mexico before arriving on U.S. soil. According to a source close to the program, his departure was discreet, and several team members only learned of the actor's departure after he had left.
"Chacón" arrived in Miami on January 9, 2025, and was welcomed by his family.
Their departure from the country adds to a growing list of key actors from the series who have chosen to emigrate. These are not isolated cases, but rather a reflection of a country in flight.
Figures such as Andy Vázquez (Facundo Correcto), Omar Franco (Ruperto), Irela Bravo (Chachita), and Marlon Pijuán (Isidoro) currently reside in the United States. The only main actors remaining in Cuba are Luis Silva (Pánfilo) and Mario Sardiñas (Chequera).
