This Wednesday, the dollar, the euro, and the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) remain unchanged in the informal exchange of currencies in Cuba.
The trend today is towards stability, after a few days in which the euro and the MLC showed some upward changes, as documented by the independent media elToque.
Very unique is the case of the dollar, which remains valued at 340 CUP. The US currency reached that price on January 11th. Since then, only one day saw a change in its value, but it returned to 340, and for the rest of the time, it has remained fixed at that price.
In the case of the euro, it remains this Wednesday at 345 pesos, a price it reached last week after two consecutive days of increase.
In regard to the Freely Convertible Currency, the virtual currency that many believe is doomed to vanish, it remains today at 245 CUP, a value it reached in the previous trading day.
Exchange Rate Evolution
However, it is interesting to note that in the median values of the MLC over the past 24 hours, the virtual currency reaches an average selling price of 250 pesos, which could indicate that its value will increase a bit more in the coming hours.

The Cuban government has denied that MLC stores will disappear. However, the reality is that the plan for the upcoming opening of 50 new stores across the country, announced recently by the Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, excludes MLC cards and focuses on cash sales or purchases made using Visa, MasterCard, or the Clásica card, the latter issued by the Cuban government.
