The various stages were positioned at strategic points along the long street. This year, the title of King of the Carnival was held by José “Jay Wheeler” López, the renowned Puerto Rican singer and songwriter, who capped off the day with his performance on the stage located on 22nd Avenue.

Before his performance, Cubans El Micha, Duvall, and Osmany García took to the stage, entertaining the audience with their shows. The latter mentioned remembered the late reggaeton artist José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, "El Taiger".

Without a doubt, this annual event celebrates the richness of Latin culture and has become one of the city's biggest attractions. The streets are filled with color, music, and flavor, offering a vibrant mix of rhythms, dances, art, and cuisine.

The aforementioned media outlet recalled that iconic figures have left their mark on the festival stage over the years. The late Celia Cruz was crowned Queen of the Carnival in 1984, while Gloria Estefan held the title in 1988. The list of kings continues with well-known artists such as Pitbull in 2010 and Daddy Yankee in 2014.

The origins of this event date back 47 years, when the Kiwanis Club started the street festival as a fundraising event for its charitable works.
