A Cuban resident in the United States has sparked a heated controversy on social media after posting a video on TikTok in which she harshly criticizes those living on the island, labeling them as "ingrates" for questioning the emigrants who denounce the situation in Cuba from abroad.

In the clip shared on the TikTok account of user @dallanayroman, the woman vehemently responds to comments that discredit Cubans living abroad for expressing their views on the reality of Cuba.

"Yes, it's very easy to talk from Miami, according to you, but it's even easier to be like a little bird with its beak open over there, waiting for the recharge to fall, for the combo to drop, for the money to come in, for the little sandals to arrive, for the clothes to come, and for the little treats to land," she says indignantly.

He assures that the emigrants who raise their voices do so with the well-being of those who continue to suffer on the island in mind, reminding us that while there are no blackouts or hunger abroad, people in Cuba continue to face misery, shortages in hospitals, a lack of teachers, and many other difficulties.

"The one speaking here is advocating for your well-being, for your freedom," he asserts, before launching an attack on those who "see only what benefits them" and criticize from the comfort of receiving aid sent by relatives abroad.

He concludes his intervention by stating that if the Cubans on the island do not awaken, they will remain trapped for generations in "dictatorship, communism, shamelessness, hunger, and misery."

The words of this woman have been celebrated by numerous Cubans in the diaspora who share her frustration over the lack of recognition for the sacrifices many make from abroad to support their family and friends on the island.

What is the misconception about the life of Cubans abroad?

There are misconceptions that Cubans abroad live in abundance and comfort. This idea is fueled by a lack of recognition of the economic and emotional challenges they face, and the belief that they automatically have a better life, which is not always the case.
