Cases of hit and run continue to rise in Miami-Dade County during 2025, according to official data from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV).
Between January 1 and July 10, there have been 8,812 hit and run incidents recorded in the county, an alarming figure that highlights a persistent and dangerous trend on the roads of South Florida.
These events have resulted in a toll of 12 fatalities and at least 1,525 injuries, representing a significant portion of the total 28,434 traffic accidents reported in the county during the same period.
In total, the incidents have resulted in 129 deaths and 13,793 injuries.
