The U.S. dollar this Thursday, September 18, 2025, is trading in the informal currency market in Cuba at 420 Cuban pesos (CUP), according to the daily rate published by elTOQUE.

This figure reflects the growing demand for foreign currency amid the national economic crisis.

The euro, for its part, continues to be the most expensive currency, increasing its value by three pesos, reaching 480 CUP in the informal market.

The European currency continues its upward trend, which increases the cost of imported products and makes it even more difficult for many Cuban families to access basic goods.

Exchange Rate Evolution

Regarding the MLC (freely convertible currency), used in state stores, its value increased by six pesos compared to the previous day. It is trading at 206 CUP, lower than the dollar and euro in the parallel market.
