The heavy rainfall that occurred on October 9 in Havana caused a severe flooding of sewage in the polyclinic Coco y Rabí, also known as Clínica Acción Médica, located in the municipality of 10 de Octubre.

In videos published by the activist Orlando Ramírez Cutiño on social media, it is observed how dirty water, with a dark color and strong odor, broke into the halls of the medical center while patients were present.

Some were on stretchers, others sitting with their feet elevated to avoid direct contact with the contaminated water, which reached their ankles.

“Look at how the Coco and Rabí polyclinic flooded in October 10,” commented Ramírez Cutiño while sharing the videos. He denounced the lack of minimum hygiene conditions at the center where his wife was receiving an infusion.

The images highlight the structural and drainage issues affecting that health center and its surroundings, exacerbated by the rains and governmental neglect.

“Afterward, they don't want there to be dengue, chikungunya, and all the strange things that exist in this country”, expressed the activist, visibly upset by the exposure to diseases caused by unsanitary conditions.

The incident has sparked numerous criticisms on social media, where citizens are questioning the deterioration of the Cuban healthcare system and the lack of an effective response to emergencies of this nature.
