The legendary Dúo Pimpinela, formed by the Argentine siblings Lucía and Joaquín Galán, has once again captivated social media with a viral video, in which they perform the song that catapulted them to fame and solidified their place in the memories of several generations of Hispanics.
The clip features a live performance. The singers' voices are clear, as if time has stood still for them, while the audience euphorically sings along to this famous heartbreak song.
The brief audiovisual was published on the Instagram account (@duopimpinela). The artists wrote: “With this song, everything began. ‘Olvídame y pega la vuelta’ was the track that opened the doors to the world for us, the one that united us forever and gave us our own style.”
The post has generated a wave of nostalgia among its followers, especially among Cubans, who have passionately sung the romantic songs of Dúo Pimpinela since the 80s and 90s.
On November 6th, the duo celebrated 44 years of artistic career. They remain a benchmark of popular music in Spanish. Their theatrical style and blend of drama, humor, and emotion have kept them in the hearts of several generations, both inside and outside of Cuba.
