A moment of terror unfolded at a marina in Miami when a garbage truck ended up submerged in a canal following a dramatic accident.
The incident, which was captured by cameras and quickly went viral on social media, could have ended in tragedy if it weren't for the decisive action of a man who didn't hesitate to jump into the water to save the two women trapped in the vehicle.
The incident occurred near 18th Street and 24th Avenue Northwest, when the truck lost control due to still unknown causes.
According to a report from Telemundo 51, the vehicle "crashed through a fence and hit a parked boat at a dock" before falling into the water.
The video shows how the truck literally flies over a fence, crashes into a tree, and ultimately strikes a boat used for fishing and sightseeing tours, which was left seriously damaged.
The scene culminates with the truck plunging into the canal, while its two occupants remain trapped inside.

It was then that a stranger—identified by some as "Rafa"—jumped into the water without hesitation and managed to pull them out through the driver’s window, just as the truck was beginning to sink.
Both women emerged unscathed, an outcome that many attribute directly to the swift intervention of the good Samaritan.
On social media, hundreds of users have expressed their admiration and gratitude towards the rescuer.
Several publications refer to a possible name for the hero: "Rafael," seemingly linked to a boat rental company (@ashaba.rentboat), although authorities have not yet provided confirmed details about his identity.
"Long live Rafael, the best Captain of Miami," reads one of the comments; while another proudly asserts, "The best, my uncle!!"
Unanswered questions
So far, the authorities have not provided information on the exact cause of the accident. It is unknown why the driver lost control of the vehicle, and whether there was any mechanical failure or human error.
It has also not been clarified whether the area had adequate safety measures in place to prevent a vehicle from falling into the water so easily.
The truth is that, had it not been for the resolute action of the rescuer, the story could have ended with a much more tragic outcome.
While waiting for more official details, the gesture of the good Samaritan has restored faith in spontaneous solidarity for many, which can save lives even in the midst of chaos.
