Preparation Time:

Note:
Banana soup is a simple and very common recipe in Cuban cuisine. It can be found on humble tables, but also in traditional cookbooks. Some consider it a dish for utilizing leftovers, while other cooks prefer to make a careful selection with the best ingredients for its preparation. This soup leaves no one indifferent and is very energizing.
Ingredients:
  • 3 green bananas
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 1½ liters of broth
  • 1 slice of toasted bread or two tablespoons of breadcrumbs
Instructions:

Peel the bananas and add lemon juice. Cut into one-inch slices and boil them in the broth.

Another option is to fry them in hot fat like for making chatinos, flatten them to form a paste, and gradually add the hot broth, little by little, so that when stirring, it takes on the consistency of soup.

Add the tablespoons of breadcrumbs or finely ground toast. Let it cook until the soup thickens.

Serve very hot, accompanied by pieces of fried bread or some crunchy food.

Enjoy your meal!
