Note:
Baked eggs are enjoyed in many countries, but in Cuba, this is not a very common way to eat eggs. I must say that this recipe is absolutely delicious, and it can be made with minimal amounts of oil or fat. It can be prepared for a hearty breakfast or a delightful lunch or dinner. There are many baked egg recipes available. This is because eggs are a very versatile ingredient that can be combined with cold cuts, cheese, vegetables, or simply cooked over a good sauté. The name "baked eggs" comes from the method of preparation, as the eggs are cooked in the very dish in which they will be served. Each diner can request their preferred level of doneness. Serve the ham and the sofrito on the plates. Add 1 or 2 eggs to each plate according to your preference. Season with salt and pepper, and bake them for 6 to 8 minutes, depending on how you like your eggs. In this case, they were in the oven for about 12 minutes to achieve well-cooked yolks.

Remove them from the oven and serve immediately. Remind the diners that this type of dish retains heat for a long time, so they should be cautious to avoid burning themselves on the serving dish.

Enjoy your meal!!
