From this December 21st theCubans can now travel to Russia for 90 days without having to apply for a visa. The agreement, which wassigned on May 22 in Russia, extends the stay permit from 30 to 90 days.
Last November the Russian Foreign Ministry communicated this decision, which was published this Friday on the official legal information page of the Russian Federation.
In this way, citizens of the Island will be able to stay in Russian territory for up to 90 days without a visa for each period of 180 days from the moment of first entry.
Russian citizens can also stay in Cuba for the same number of days without needing a visa. All those citizens who want to reside in the territory of the other country for more than these 90 days or engage in work or commercial activities will have to obtain the corresponding visa at the diplomatic representation or consular office.
Russia is one of the fewCountries that Cubans can visit without needing a visa. This list includes nations such as Belarus, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Serbia,Qatar, among others.
Moscow, for its part, has become one of Havana's main trading partners.
The Russian government has reached an agreement with the Cuban authorities in different areas, in fact it will lend more than 40 million to Cuba to facilitate the purchase of Russian-made weapons.
Last November, the ruler Díaz-Canel visited Moscow on his Eurasian tour.
