The strong tornado that hit the capital this Sunday night of Cuba has caused considerable material damage and destruction to the Hijas de Galicia Maternal Hospital, located in the Havana municipality of 10 de Octubre.

Destroyed ceilings, doors on the floor, broken windows, wet floors are some of the damage that can be seen in the hospital, which suffered the attacks of the powerful weather organism that hit neighborhoods in the capital of Cuba.

“Now you have to evacuate the entire Hijas de Galicia hospital because there is no light,” the Cuban paparazzi said through social networks, in a broadcast that showed ambulances in the area and dozens of people who watched the scene in their streets in perplexity.

Several rescue teams and ambulances arrived at the Havana hospital to evacuate the patients, many of whom left the center with their babies in the arms or in those of some of the Red Cross volunteers or firefighters.

The Cuban paparazzi traveled to the area in Luyanó who, in the midst of the darkness of the early morning and the lack of electricity, showed the destruction left behind by the powerful organization, which occurred "as part of an extratropical low that descended from the southeastern Gulf of Mexico to the western region of the country" and that has affected areas of western Cuba.

The images show streets full of rubble, posts in the middle of the street and cars buried under stones.

Although the material damage has not yet been able to be quantified, given the recent nature of the tornado strike and the early hours on the Island, official sources in Cuba They have confirmed the number of at least three dead and 172 injured due to the tornado that hit Havana this Sunday.
