Tornado reported near Havana Airport

He Institute of Meteorology warned this Sunday that much of the country would be cloudy and they predicted "showers, rain and thunderstorms in the south of the eastern region, being isolated in the extreme west and scarce in the rest of the national territory."

Last Sunday a tornado affected several homes in the town “La Rosita”, in Mane Güira, Artemisa province. The meteorological event also occurred in the evening, between 3:45 pm and 4:25 pm.

The official press considered it "a weak tornado" and specified that its radius of action was between 5 to 7 meters. In its path it felled trees, but left no economic losses or injuries.

Also on the last Sunday of April a tornado and heavy rain in Artemisa, in the early afternoon, in an area near the baseball stadium. On that occasion the rains hit the Alquizar municipality intensely and left flooding in the town.
