The Cuban outfielder and prospect Víctor Víctor Mesa was diagnosed with a grade 1 thigh injury and will be reassigned to rehabilitation in the minors, as reported this morning by MLB.com's Joe Frisaro.

It is unknown if the injury will allow Mesa to return to spring training with the Marlins' big team and fight for a spot on Opening Day.

Most likely, the organization will not rush the 22-year-old talent and keep him recovering from this injury.

Table is the Miami Marlins' number one prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, after signing last October for a five million dollar bonus.

This unfortunate injury occurred on a run from home to first where Mesa struggled to avoid the double play and as he passed the base tore his right thigh.
