Pinaro native Lázaro Alonso continues to make an impact in the Minor Leagues and on the night of August 7 he hit a 506-foot home run at the Jupiter branch, Class-A advanced and which belongs to the Miami Marlins.

Alonso, 24 years old, is currently hitting .286, 18 doubles, 8 home runs and 44 RBIs in Class-A Advanced.

The player hit the longest homer in the history of the Jupiter Hammerheads branch, according to the team's official account on Twitter.

The "Big Papi" of Pinar del Río, as Alonso was nicknamed, was promoted to Double-A in mid-July, but on the 30th he returned to advanced Class-A after a change made by the Marlins that placed prospect Lewin Díaz in Double-A.

Beyond this giant home run, Alonso has shown that he can continue climbing in the Minors, and that his promotion to Double-A is more than deserved.
