Cuban prospect Norge Carlos Vera had a presentation this Wednesday in the Dominican Republic before scouts and different officials from more than 15 Major League organizations.

Vera, 19, auditioned at Boca Chica, the Houston Astros complex, and faced hitters in live batting practice.

The son of former Santiago de Cuba pitcher Norge Luis Vera was a little wild at first, but his fastball surpassed 94 miles on one occasion and settled stably between 90 and 93.

Vera threw 35 pitches, including 19 strikes, with a pitch between 79 and 81 miles and curves from 72 to 74.

Among Vera, like Pedro León, Yoelkis Céspedes, Oscar Colás, Dyan Yamel Jorge, Edgar Quero and some more, is the main source of Cuban talent to sign in the next signing market on July 2.

Vera left the Cuba team on the Can-Am League tour at the end of June 2019.
