"I still see Red Hot from time to time," said the Puerto Rican journalist in an interview with Luz María Doria, the executive producer of Despierta América.

“I look at my colleagues, I check on them, I see what kind of news they are posting. I don't see it much, but when I see it, yes, of course I check it because I want to see how they are doing, what kind of notes they are making, if they are different... And I do it with a lot of affection," he added.

In a statement in August, María Celeste announced thathad been separated from the Telemundo network:

"Dear friends, with deep sadness, I want to inform you that yesterday was my last day with Al Rojo Vivo and on the Telemundo screen. This morning I was informed by the company that they have decided that the program will take another direction and that due to adjustments by due to the pandemic, I will no longer be part of the show," he told his followers on social networks.

"Telemundo has been my home for almost 20 years and I am very grateful for the opportunity they gave me to have been able to cover major news events and serve our Hispanic community for so many years. I leave behind many dear colleagues who will always be able to count on everything my support," he added.

Now María Celeste says about her departure to the television network: “I left on good terms even though they fired me. For me, those years I was there were wonderful years, the company gave me a great opportunity and I'm not saying this to ingratiate myself, I'm saying it because I'm truly sorry."

“In this world one has to move on when things happen to you that are not what you expected, with an empty suitcase because the stones, resentment, gossip, revenge, all those things are rocks in that suitcase that do not let you move towards your future goals,” he noted.
