Cincinnati Reds pitching prospect Vladimir Gutiérrez, worked for the first time in 2020 and in the demanding Dominican Winter League. The man from Pinar del Río did not disappoint in his return and during four innings of work he allowed only two hits, without the shadow of a run and struck out seven batters.

Although he did not manage to win because the management of the Tigres del Licey lifted him after four innings, Gutiérrez threw 46 pitches, including 36 strikes. Licey won 8-5 against the Gigantes del Cibao.

Most of her strikeouts came through the fast fastball and the contrast with the remarkable curve that led the specialized site Baseball America to classify her as "the best" of the Cincinnati Reds franchise.

The night was not the same for Rogelio Armenteros, who fell in the opposing trench. The Havana native worked 1.2 innings, allowing 6 runs, only two of them earned and the ERA rose to 3.86.

On the day where there was a rest in Venezuela and Mexico, Rangel Ravelo hit one hit while Ronnier Mustelier went blank three times with the Estrellas Orientales and is now hitting .143.

Yoel Yanqui from Santiago, who belongs to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, made his debut from first base with the Tigres del Licey and went 0 for 3, with one walk, a run scored and a strikeout. Yanqui continued to increase the number of Antillean baseball players in the 2020 Winter Leagues, the same record that last season exceeded 50 Cubans in Quisqueya, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia or Panama.
