Vladimir Gutiérrez is a pitcher from Pinar del Río born in 1995 who participated in two National Series with the squad from his native province and then left the Vegueros team during the 2015 San Juan Caribbean Series. In August 2016 he agreed with the Rojos for 4.75 million dollars, and in 2021 he managed to debut in the Major Leagues with the Cincinnati jersey. In 2020 he received a sanction of 80 games without pay due to the use of stanozolol, a substance prohibited by MLB. With fastballs over 95 mph, Gutiérrez also exhibits good command of the curveball and slider.
