The Facebook profile called Las locuras de Miguelín has launched a new comedy short that has elicited more than a few laughs from the page's followers.

Under the title "The New Aquariums in Cuba," four young Cubans have come together to depict one of the many harsh realities faced by the island's residents.

On this occasion, they have captured in their story the shortage of food items in the CUC stores, where dozens of units of water bottles are piled up to fill the shelves of establishments lacking products.

The plot of the short film revolves around a young man who visits Cuba and rents a room in the house of a friend’s cousin, who has just obtained a rental license.

However, the hostess of the home will face the challenge of providing food for her tenant. Her boyfriend makes several trips to the stores with the intention of buying groceries, only to find bottles of water everywhere instead.

The result? They ended up offering him water instead of food, something that left the young man returning to his country of residence with a constant urge to use the bathroom.

The reactions from the followers of Las locuras de Miguelín have been immediate, with many leaving comments on the post affirming that they addressed the harsh realities faced by Cubans in their short film.

"That video is so true, it's exactly what we're experiencing," "Oh my God, that's hilarious," "It's just like that," "Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks: water. What a sad reality we have, but I still laughed a lot," "The reality is there's indeed plenty of water; I can't stop laughing, haha, you guys are the best," "You totally nailed it with the comparison of the store looking like an aquarium, haha," or "I can only imagine what awaits me when I go now," can be read in the post.
