Yordenis Ugás: "I always ask San Judas Tadeo for the freedom of political prisoners"

The Cuban boxerYordenis Ugás He stated that he usually asks Saint Jude Thaddeus, popularly known among believers as the patron saint of difficult causes, for the freedom of political prisoners in his country.

The boxer showed on his social networks the devotion he feels for the miraculous saint, by sharing a photo of his image tattooed on his right arm, one of his favorite tattoos, he said.

"Saint Jude Thaddeus: the lawyer of difficult and desperate cases. As a child, before each fight, I read his prayer and others, it was a complete book. Now I always ask him for the freedom of political prisoners and for those who remain in cold Cuban prisons, for thinking differently. Because they got tired and came out on 7/11 to ask for a better country. Justice and Life hurts every day," he wrote on his Twitter account.

Yordenis is one of the Cuban exile figures most publicly committed to the freedom of Cuba.

In November, he announced hisparticipation in an event at the iconic Versailles restaurant in Miami, in support of his compatriots that on the Island they were repressed for asking for freedom and human rights, "with my Cubans protesting for what they do not have a voice, nor do they have the opportunity to do so without suffering consequences."

In his fight against the Castro dictatorship, he warned Cubans inside Cuba thatIf they do not rebel against the regime they will be "slaves" forever, and stressed that the greatest protagonists in achieving freedom are those who live there.

He also asked those who have emigrated to help and motivate their brothers who suffer from the dictatorship.

"I think we have fallen short in exile by supporting the boys who have been imprisoned since July 11," he said, adding that he will continue to use his platforms in favor of the Cuban cause.

In July, during the massive protests unleashed in several cities on the island, he showed immediate support for the thousands of Cubans who took to the streets to demand freedom for Cuba andparticipated in the support rallies held in Washington.
