Cuban stadiums open at 50% of their capacity due to increase in COVID-19 infections

TheCuban stadiums will open at 50% of its capabilities during the currentNational baseball series, started last Sunday, due to new measures approved by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) before theincrease in coronavirus cases in the country.

In accordance with the hygienic-sanitary measures established by the government agency,People with respiratory symptoms will not be allowed to enter sports facilities. and the stands will be marked to maintain distancing, according to the official newspaperGranma.

Heuse of the mask is mandatory, and thehand disinfection with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite or hydroalcoholic solution at the entrance to the stadiums, in addition to thesports surfaces and media, before and after finishing each match.

The health personnel of each ball team are obliged to carry out strict clinical-epidemiological surveillance on the athletes, to detect any sign of COVID-19 and avoid infections. Players with symptoms will not be allowed in any match; if any signs of the disease are found, they will be separated from the rest of the team.

The MINSAP ordered that accommodation and transportation conditions be guaranteed without overcrowding for the teams, and that the temperature of the players, coaches and the rest of the members of the delegations be taken at three times of the day. He also indicated that the SUMA antigen test be performed one day before moving to another province.

Other measures include maintaining 0.1% sodium hypochlorite or hydroalcoholic solution for hand disinfection in the premises that provide services; and guarantee adequate hygienic-sanitary conditions during the handling, preparation, storage and sale of food.

In the midst of the resurgence of COVID-19 at the beginning of this year, six players from theLas Tunas team They tested positive for the disease, in addition to a member of the coaching staff and an official from the Provincial Baseball Commission.

This same month,the Holguín team was forced to interrupt his training and was isolated due to two members diagnosed with the virus. Other members later tested positive.
