A truck carrying construction workers left the road in the Banes municipality, Holguín,leaving a preliminary balance of 15 injured, three of whom were reported seriously injured.
The accident occurred in the early hours of this Wednesday in the Retrete Abajo area when the truck “went off its path in an area with a steep slope and sharp curves,” as reported by Radio Banes on its social networks.
The seriously ill patients were transferred to the Lenin Hospital of the provincial capital and the rest were treated at the clinical-surgical hospital of the municipality. According to the aforementioned media, “the main party and government authorities of the territory” came to take an interest in the injured.
“In the early hours of this Wednesday, May 18, a traffic accident occurred in the area of Retrete Abajo, in this municipality of Banes, which left 15 people injured, three of them seriously, who were "They were immediately transferred to the Lenin hospital, in the provincial capital, and the rest were treated in the municipality," said Radio Banes.
At the time of writing this note, the causes of the accident, the site to which the workers were going and other details of what happened are unknown.

For his part, another user of the social network added that the vehicle was in service, and that it was making its second trip of the night transporting fuel, amid the shortage of that product at gas stations in the country.
Likewise, he denounced that the road has been in a repair project for more than 35 years without the authorities having so far completed the recovery of the road.

The accident occurred at night on Fifth Avenue in the capital, near the Santa Fe neighborhood. According to witnesses to the accident, one of the trucks collided head-on with the Lada, which was destroyed.
