Ambulance crashes into a horse cart on the Central Highway

The incident occurred in Placetas, Villa Clara, at 3:30 am. According to a paramedic who attended the scene, there were two injuries, one of them reported serious.

A serious injury is the main result of an accident that occurred this Wednesday morning on the Central Highway, where an ambulance collided with a horse cart.

Arisbel Tejeda, who works as a paramedic, shared photos of the accident in the group ofFacebook "BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS for more experience and fewer victims!".

"This happened in Villa Clara, Carretera Central, Placetas band, 3:30 am, the steering wheel was dark. Two injured, one of them right now is reported to be serious, and the paramedic and nurse without injuries," he described.

Several Internet users commented on the publication, where they pointed out the danger that animal-drawn cars represent for traffic on the roads, since they circulate at night and without any lighting.

"And the accidents with spiders or chitrins or whatever you want to call them continue, and the worst thing is that due to the situation with transportation there are more and more, they should already register them in transit and give them badges," said a Havana resident.

"The country completely full of every device and junk appears circulating at any time of the day and night, without problems of any kind; results: more deaths and accidents," lamented a driver.

"Gentleman, but until then, that is one of the causes of major accidents on the road, there is no one who requires that those carts at least have reflectors to see them on the road, to do the same as they did with the motorized vehicles, which without plates cannot be They could circulate, do the same to anyone who has one of those steering wheels," asked a taxi driver.

"Where do they sell reflections or refractors in Cuba? I haven't seen a light triangle in a store for years, nor the little lanterns they put on bicycles," questioned a former teacher.

"The police do not catch or fight with the dark trucks," criticized a truck driver from Varadero.

A resident in Villa Clara assured that horse carts are very common on that stretch of road. "Nobody does anything and look, one less ambulance," he said.

At the end of August, atruck and a horse-drawn carriage collided on a street in the Jesús Menéndez municipality, Las Tunas. They were both going in the same direction when the truck overtook the car, hooked it from the back and overturned it.

The incident left five people injured, two of them, women, were seriously injured. According to witnesses, both were thrown from the car and fell violently against the asphalt.

A month before, aMotorcyclist died after crashing into a horse cart at night at the entrance to Sancti Spíritus, at kilometer 380 of the Central Highway.

The Honda racing motorcycle hit the spider from behind, before being completely destroyed.

Two other people were seriously injured in the tragic accident.
