The United States government condemned the arrest this Wednesday of relatives of political prisoners from 11J, who would participate in a meeting organized by the embassy of that country in Havana.

"These families have the right to speak to the international community and anyone else they choose about the condition of their loved ones," Brian A. Nichols, assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere Affairs, wrote on Twitter.

The US official emphasized the need for the Cuban government to release all citizens who have been unjustly detained, especially those who are in prison for political reasons.

This Wednesday, several activists denounced on the Internet the selective harassment of the relatives of the political prisoners of 11J, besieged in their homes by counterintelligence and police officers.

Restrictions on mobile data internet service were also reported.

Marta Perdomo, Liset Fonseca, Jorge Martin and Wilber Aguilar They were some of the parents of political prisoners who were detained when they were trying to reach the Washington embassy in Havana to meet with Emily Mendrala, Deputy Undersecretary of State in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs.

Aguilar Bravo shared on his social networks images of the police positioned in front of his home and a fine, which they allegedly imposed on him for violating the orders of the repressors.

"There is no law in the world that prohibits defending a child. The cry for freedom grows. Freedom for our children, freedom for all political prisoners and long live Cuba, free. Glory to all the brothers who support us," he wrote on Facebook .

Activist Salomé García Bacallao shared on her Twitter account the moment in which the uniformed officers detained Migdalia, one of the Cuban women who has had her son imprisoned since last year for peacefully protesting against the government.

"They tell me that she and Wilber were released with a fine but I have no confirmation," he added.

State Security has not stopped harassing the relatives of Cuban political prisoners, who, given the lack of institutional response to their complaints, gather in information campaigns through social networks and share content every day about the situation that the young detainees are going through.
