"The Patriot has not died, the Patriot is simply imprisoned," he said in a live interview during a screening, and lamented that "the prisoner, like the dead, is forgotten."
The opponent has been in prison since the beginning of October last year,sentenced to two years in prison for the alleged crime of attack.
In his statements, he asserted that his commitment is to the freedom of Cuba and that he will not disappoint those who believe in him.

El Patriota assured that "I will never give up" and expressed solidarity with the rest of the prisoners who are serving unjust sanctions in Cuban prisons for asking for freedom for Cuba.

El Patriota was sentenced to two years for the post he made on Facebook encouraging people to take to the streets to demonstrate, shortly after the protests began in Camagüey during the social outbreak of July 11, 2021.
That sentence was added to another of one year and six months in prison, imposed in December of last year by the Municipal Court of Camagüey, for his participation in the July 11 protests.
