A video of a woman in Cuba who went out without clothes for the street has sparked outrage and sadness at the same time.
The recording circulating on social networks shows an elderly woman, completely naked, lying in the middle of an avenue, saying things while cars pass by her.
Without any scruples, the person making the recording begins to make fun of the old woman, who clearly has mental problems.
"You stayed, La Diosa left but you stayed, with your 40-pound papaya!" he shouts.
The woman, in her madness, answers that hers is 800 pounds, and immediately begins to shout "down with Díaz-Canel."
Everything happens while numerous people on the sidewalk watch without doing anything.
Finally, a young woman and a man approach and with effort they manage to lift her off the ground and carry her away, holding her by the arms.
The depressing scene is representative of the total crisis of values that the country is going through.
Several Internet users pointed out that the elderly woman possibly suffers from a psychiatric illness and is decompensated due to the lack of medication.
However, the most worrying thing is the lack of empathy shown by those present, who did not lift a finger to help her - except for the last two - and by the person who filmed the video, who made fun of a sick person.
"How sad, how disgusting of society, how ashamed I feel to be part of a people that becomes miserable and insensitive and increasingly stupid, with stupid music and decadent speeches. Filming, enjoying other people's pain, offending, looking for likes (...) makes the crowd entertainer and all those who remained silent and took out their cell phones despicable," said musician Javier Rodríguez, director of the group Extraño Corazón, on his wall ofFacebook.
"It's hard to see this happening from WhatsApp to WhatsApp. It's hard for me to be right when I affirm and repeat daily to my mother, (already with her mind in another cosmic dimension) that the CUBA that she defended and lived in no longer exists, and we will go to worse. It is one thing to live with all the viral garbage on the Internet and another to take as a joke the sadness of seeing your country sink into ruin and along with it the values that many of us hold and cling to maintain," he concluded.
Also the comedian Limay Blanco Humorista regretted the attitude of those who laughed at the old woman and started recording the video instead of helping her.
"That lady could be your grandmother, your sister, your mother, your aunt, who was a normal person and suddenly... because a normal person doesn't do what she does, but there are people who find that funny. So we recorded it and we laughed about it, and we shared it, and it is easier to pick up a phone and record it and upload it to the networks, than to take off a sweater and put it on," he lamented.
"We live in a world where if you fall you have to get up by yourself, because no one is going to give you a hand to help you get up, because your hands are busy with the phone recording your fall," he said inFacebook.
Fellow musician Dagoberto Pedraja, former guitarist of the group Gens, stated that the event showed "the savagery to which we are already approaching."
"The person recording the video has no humanity, how vulgar," said democracy activist Iliana Hernández.
