Cuban activists and artists residing in Madrid, Spain, called for this Saturday the collective action "64 thousand reasons not to vote", which will have social networks as its main stage.

"We invite Cubans in exile to join in expressing their rejection of the dictatorship from wherever they are uploading content and carrying out public actions. Let us accompany our families in Cuba on this day when they suffer harassment from the repressive apparatus that forces them to vote. Let them know that they are not alone, that they can resist threats and coercion," the organizers said in a statement.

Likewise, the artists Tania Bruguera and Luis Alberto Mariño will be presenting the work "Coro", in the Muelle 36 space, on Hilarión Eslava street, in Madrid; from 4:00 p.m. and until 9:00 p.m.

"Coro" is a performance by the artist Tania Bruguera where the names, surnames and ages of all political prisoners in Cuba are listed.

It was presented during Miami Art Week, last December, and according to Bruguera herself, what they are looking for is for the entire world to know that there are political prisoners in the country.

Various independent civil society organizations in Cuba make a massive call for abstention in the face of this Sunday's elections, where the deputies of the National Assembly of People's Power elected by the communist party will be ratified.

In the previous days, State Security has increased repression and there are complaints from independent observers about the violation of Cuban laws themselves, based on intimidation, pressure and blackmail on those who expressed their intention not to participate.
