A 36-year-old Cuban who worked as a custodian at theUrbano Noris sugar mill, in the province ofHolguin, died this Wednesday afternoon after being trapped by a conveyor machinery known as an “auger.”
The tragic accident occurred in the “manufacturing area” of the Central between six and seven in the afternoon, as specified insocial networks the local media Radio San Germán The Voice of Sugar.
In a secondpublication, the same source identified the victim as Iosbel Olivera Mesa and detailed that preliminary investigations revealed that the custodian “It was in an area that was not operating at first, and when the second-speed auger came into operation, the unfortunate accident occurred.”
“They informed me that a young custodian went to get sugar from inside one of the grinding machines that were stopped and the plant started to work,” official journalist Francisnet Díaz Rondón explained on social networks, who specified that the victim was the father of three children.

A necropsy will be performed on the worker's mortal remains.

The screw conveyor, which caused the death of the custodian of the Holguín plant, is a continuous transport machinery that uses a rotating helical screw blade - generally inside a tube - to move liquid or granular materials.
